Architects Are Secretly Declining Residential Work. Here’s Why.
Many design builders and architects I speak with are secretly turning down homeowner clients. They want to either get into commercial work or work with serial developers.

A business owner building their 2nd and 3rd supermarket is not going to lose sleep over the building process. They already designed the first one, so they trust the process. They are not emotionally invested in the outcome since they know it will turn out well. Commercial clients, especially serial ones, will not email the architect all hours of the day or night asking how the plans are coming. They have bigger things to worry about, such as managing the operations of their business.
