I lived in Australia for 2 years, and it would be unthinkable to respond to an email on a weekend. There's definitely a time and a place to be ambitious, but for most people, this is handing your soul over to an employer, and no one will remember what you did with your life if you diddn't enjoy it, and don't have any good stories to tell.
