I suspect that books carry the soul of the author and have a "soul" of their own. I have a Finnish book Sinuhe egyptiläinen from 1945 and there's a handwritten note in it as a Christmas gift. How you treat seemingly "inanimate objects" in your life is how universal consciousness will treat you back.
