These design mistakes do not compromise the integrity of the build, but rather are a nuisance to homeowners. If you are renovating your house, kitchen, or bathroom, check your floor plans to make sure these mistakes are not on there.

Shower Head on the Wrong Side

You want the shower head to be on the same side that you enter the shower. This way you can turn it on from standing outside the shower. If the shower head is behind a fixed panel of glass, you have to go inside to turn it on. Which means you will be sprayed with ice cold water while you wait for it to get warm. In the picture above, you have a handheld shower-head, which makes this configuration work. You can spray the nozzle away from you while you wait for it to get warm. But you can imagine what this would be like if there was just an overhead shower!
