My Digital Nomad Retirement Lasted 2 Days
This is a warning to anyone thinking of leaving the digital nomad / expat lifestyle. This article was my reasons at the time for moving to a stable job:

After spending many hours a day working out of cafes by myself, I craved the camaraderie I once had in my previous office jobs. I wanted the sense of “we’re in this together” that I never got as a digital nomad. When you work by yourself as a sole proprietor, you do not have those 15 minute chats with your boss in the morning. Other digital nomads have different businesses, and you are not fighting for the same cause.
I thought a job offer in New York City would be the move to offset my digital nomad plateau. With a salary, I could aggressively pay down my student loans and eventually invest in moving abroad again. I would also be associating myself with high powered people, and be able to improve my own business strategies.
Stepping Stone Moves Will Always Make You Unhappy
If what you are doing now is an inconvenience to get to somewhere else, you will resent everything about your day to day life. It is far better to be working on the thing you want to do right now than to invest in a steppingstone move. For me, a stable job was…
