Reasons to Journal During Your Psychedelic Trips
People have told me I was out of my mind for writing during my psychedelic trips. “You experienced it, so you know it,” they said. While taking psychedelics and forever “knowing the message” can work for some, I find that the message inevitably fades off. Journalling peak trip forms a great accountability system to make necessary life changes.
Your Strong Convictions About Life Quickly Get Lost
In Emerson’s Self Reliance, he writes:
“These are the voices which we hear in solitude, but they grow faint and inaudible as we enter into the world”
From my personal experience, my own convictions from a recent trip fade off after about 3 days. And without a strong integration plan, I slowly go back to my same old habits and self limiting thought patterns. Without a journal, my trip becomes an isolated event instead of a continuous one.
