Regarding the gym, I have never stuck w / any gym routine for more than 3 weeks. But when I booked a mountaineering expedition, I trained w / a 75 lb pack for 6 months and got into the best shape of my life. I could not fathom being a weak member of the expedition. It all boils down to your why. The feedback loop of having bad habits can be years delayed. So I try to have short term catalysts that reward good habits. This was a great article!
