We all know that full immersion is the fastest way to learn a language, but what if your target language is on the other side of the planet? In my case, it would be very difficult to find a Finnish speaking community in the U.S. The solution is the natural method, where you watch short dual subtitled YouTube videos on repeat. But there’s a catch to make it work!
Step 1: Watch the same short YouTube video in your target language with dual language subtitles 20–50+ times in a row.
Here is my favorite Channel on YouTube, Finnished, for learning Finnish. I actually learned about the natural method from this channel, because I was frustrated with Finnish grammar. It seemed impossible to figure out why the words change so much.
