This truth needs to be spread far and wide. I once fell into a similar trap myself trying to "memorize" my way to a language. It's a product of our industrial productivity-driven society.

I equate it to the idea of building a "line" city that's 100 miles long with a high speed rail down the middle. What will happen in reality is people will move to clusters and the city will expand out beyond the 'line" in an oval shape.

Memorizing a language sounds like a good idea in theory, but in practice, it's not "human" similar to the line city analogy.
