Do Yourself a Favor and Stick With Your Stable Job
I was a freelancer and digital nomad successfully for over a year. Then I hit a wall of loneliness when I was abroad. Loneliness is a regular occurrence as a nomad, but it is easy to find a like-minded community. But this time, I was so busy with clients, I had not spoken to anyone other than cafe and supermarket workers for 2 weeks in a row. Craving the camaraderie of office life again, I decided to accept a stable job offer in NYC. I quit this particular job on day 2, thinking it was the companies fault, but really it was my own fault.
You Will Never be Able to Listen to a Boss Again
If you’ve been accustomed to working for companies your entire life, do yourself a favor and stick with them. Life is easy with a stable job. You comply and you get paid. Unless you are super high ranking, you can completely mentally check out at 5 PM. You can use this free time to start your own business after hours or go out with friends. You justify being compliant for 8 hours a day to be completely free for the other 16.
