In your experience, which version of the language is the most efficient to transfer knowledge to the others? (not necessarily the most important).

In Finnish, puhekieli (spoken language) knowledge transfers much more smoothly to kirjakieli (written language) than vice versa.

So with Japanese, would knowing one of the 3 languages of politeness first transfer easier to the other 2?
